Tour update!

It has been a while since i have posted on here because i am bad about remembering. Anyways i wanted to give an update on how tour has been going. The first week has been sooooooo sick! War of Ages are some of the funnest dudes we could ever have toured with, Your Memorial are just a party in itself, Onward To Olympas are fun dudes that like Dale (#3), and Gideon are just are bestfriends. The shows have been out of this world. Big draws and just meeting a lot of new people along the way! We picked up an off show in Lubbock,TX and had a blast, and met some cool new people that we look forward to see again soon! We hung out at a hotel in Mesa,AZ for 2 days and got free Qdoba, and got to see Four Year Strong for free. Yesterday we came to Oceanside,CA were we got hooked up with a resort on the beach until Sunday which is sick in itself. We also went to hang with our Managers today and got In and Out burger, had a little meeting about big things coming up, and raided the Merch Connection warehouse and got some new shirts and what not. Jackson and Tyler went to Facedown Fest to hang with everyone. Me, Trent, Lurk, and Eric stayed behind to hang and go into Hollywood tomorrow. We are off to Las Vegas on Monday and hitting some markets we have never been next week that im also looking forward to. Tour has been amazing so far and i hope it stays this way. I cant wait to get back to our side of the country and see more familiar faces.

Sorry for the rant. I will try to update this more often. Party on!

Living the band life.

So, a lot of you may think that being in a touring band is “living the life”. Let me just begin and tell you that as awesome as it is to travel and meet new people there are a lot of cons that come along as well that you have to realize and work with it. Im going to go through some of these things:

-Being away from home. Some times it can be a great thing, but it can also be hard. Being away from all your friends and family. The worst part is being far away from them and something happening to them where you need to be home as soon as you can. Last year we were on tour when my mother got sick and we were gone when my mother passed. It puts a lot of stress on you when things like that happen but it something you have to push through.

- Money. Some thing being in a touring band that you make a lot of money and just have the life. That is completely wrong. You may make 5 to 10 bucks a night for yourself. You  might get food at the venue, but a lot of the time one meal will not hold you for the whole day. A lot of the time you have to use your own money to survive or hope people will give you food, place to stay, ect.

- Our biggest problem lately, van and trailer problems. A few months ago we spent $780 on a new drive shaft, $1600 on a new transmission. Its not fun breaking down, because it put more stress on everyone. Especially when you have big tours coming up in a few weeks that you have a short amount of time to get it fixed.

Now, im not saying that being in a signed touring band is all negative because that is not true at all. Traveling from state to state is surreal and something that i cannot believe i get to experience. Hanging with some of my best friends in the whole world and making some of the best memories i will ever have. Meeting new people everyday is awesome. And just playing shows is just…well… fun as ever.

Dont think me posting this is trying to tell you not try to shoot for your dreams and play music, its not. Im just trying to let you know there are things that you dont hear about that do suck. But the good times weigh so much more then the cons.

I love my band, i love the people i have met so far and look forward to meeting more people. I love my friends and family back home and everyone that supports us in this.

See you all in April!

Sorry for not posting in a while. But, i took a little Vacation up to Boston,MASS. It has been sick for sure. Good eat, hangs, and just being a tourist. I can say that Boston is one of my favorite citys. I love coming here and will continue to come here and love every minuet of it. I will be back in Nashville/Lebanon on Monday, then we start rehearsing for all of our shows for the remainder of this month and next month. Be sure to check out the dates (if you care).

Post Recording

We have just about finished up the record. I cant say how bitter sweet it is. I cannot wait for people to hear and see what they think. Especially, the guest vocal parts on the record. Man, i’m so anxious but excited at the same time…… just wait world.

“My Matriarch”

Matriarch-A highly respected woman who is a mother.

We have now made our way to doing vocals for the song “Matriarch” on our new CD.

This song means a lot to me. It is the part of the story that the boy loses his mother and being pissed at the world. I believe Jackson did a great job writing lyrics for this song because it basically tell about what I went through.

I am a little nervous because Jackson asked me to scream on this song. Im screaming “my anchor.” Which he got from the tattoo of my mother that says it. Im really excited about doing it but nervous at the same time. I want it to sound perfect and just let it all out through 2 words. Wish me look and look for this song on the CD.

That weird feeling.

It never fails. If I am away from home for a while and i come home for some reason everything feels so different. But then after a day or so its back to normal. I kinda enjoy the feeling. I like being away for however long and then coming home to see if anything at all has changed, then getting back in the swing of the home life.
